I love the swag bags from Paper Issues they are a cute little helping of goodies that isn’t overwhelming and can be used easily to make wonderful pretty LOs. If you are anything like me you have a stash of swag bags, as one can never have too many, so I dug into my and created this LO very simple yet I love it.
I really wanted this little gold stars to be shown off in this LO and I think it worked. I must mention however I was feeling a bit unispired that day. Yes it happens to all of us so I gave myself a push and went into my pins. I loved this simplicity of this LO but its hard for me to do simple but I think I worked it pretty well. So if your feeling a bit uninspired grab a swag bag and pick a pin to get yourself moving again 🙂
Its a brand new challenge at Paper Issues “Roll The Dice” and it is such a fun challenge. Each month the challenge will be determined by the roll of the dice. What can be more fun. This month the challenge is to use 2 pictures and 5 patterned papers and this is what I came up with.
I,m not sure I ever used so much patterned paper in a LO but I sure do like how this turned out. Even though I can’t stand my ugly handwriting, I do love using the big picture and touches of gold. The Color Cast Designs acrylic was a perfect touch to bring this all together. I didn’t use a lot of elements on this page but I had enough patterned paper from the Dear Lizzy collection that it wasn’t really needed here. This was all made easy by using a digital template by Simple Scrapper.

I love the Mix It Up Challenge at Paper Issues because I just love a reason to get messy. This is a great challenge for ladies that haven’t gotten messy or are a bit intimidated by using mixed media on your LOs, because with this challenge it doesn’t have to be the main focus of your page. I decided to make a background using water colors and water color paper. Easy as pie because I do not have to prep the surface of my paper. Yes you can do that 🙂 I have a large 12×16 pad and I cut down the papers to 12×12 and work from that.
Keeping with the challenge I cut out a title which I made in my silhouette software. It was very simple and just a great kick start to my LO.
I chose my colors based on the Gather collection which helped it all tie in to the LO. And this is the finished LO which as you can see isn’t all that messy considering that’s what most think of with a mixed media LO and this is not so intimidating to try. And to help you out a little bit I’ve made this title file available for you DOWNLOAD HERE and give it a try.
So go ahead give mixed media a shot with this not so intimidating challenge. 🙂 and if you need to go shopping remember to use my code to get 20% off your total purchase
I decided that Septembers cut file needed to be cut into a stencil. I used a plastic sheet I had in my stash for some time as well as the deep cut blade in my silhouette to make the stencil. Wondering what that is all about? Check out my PI blog post on the deep cut blade which is meant for the Curio but can be used easily in your silhouette.
I had to make a double cut with the blade set at 20 speed at 3 and thickness at 33 but it came out great and I now will be making plenty of PI stencils to use with my pages.
I had such fun with this page and can I just say how much I love this Crate Paper Cool Kid line!! I made the splatters with acrylic paint and modeling paste I think it works better then the black gesso that I have. If you haven’t grabbed this collection do so now 🙂 and remember to use my code at check out to get 20% off your total order
Its another month of challenges over at Paper Issues and this month its all about leafs and fall and crisp cook air. I would seriously love some crisp cool air right now but fall usually means my daily battles with my neighborhood squirrels. These little buggers are so greedy and very little stops them from getting to my birds food. Between the squirrels and my cat going nuts over them its a wonder I get anything done in my scrap room. But I did get this page done for the challenge.
I used the Woodland Forest collection by Pebbles which was perfect for this project. All the leaves and little woodland creatures. I must say I’m absolutely loving the wood pieces in this line. If you need to go shopping remember to use my code and get 20% off your purchase.
I’m the mom that loves to put my kids on a bus I won’t ever hide that fact. I like summer and breaks and all but yea there comes a time they need to leave me alone for a while so I can get my scrap on and actually function like an adult. So when I saw the Paper Issues mood board I was so very happy. I have all five starting in different levels, college, high school, middle school and elementary. This is my 6th grader on her first day all ready to take the leap into middle school.
I don’t have many school theme collections to speak of so this old one by Simple Stories gets a work out. Sometimes we have to reach back into our stash no shame in that 🙂 I did couple it along with the “school time” acrylic by Color Cast Designs and it all came together quite quickly
Remember to use my code if you need to get some shopping done to celebrate your kids going back to school. Enjoy your scrappy time.
I’m joining the second round of the Paper Issues challenge, the theme this month is “go for the gold”. I was planning a totally different LO for this challenge but when I opened the Fancy Pants Life is Beautiful collection I was inspired by the gold specialty paper in the pack. I absolutely love this collection and had so much fun with this LO.
I tried to get the gold mic powder to show up a bit more gold but with no luck. Next time I’ll mix it with less gesso and I hope it will give me the color I want. I cut the gold paper with a file from The Cut Shoppe that is having a sale this month. I’ve never used files from the shop before so I thought sale.. why not give it a shot 🙂 I do like these hearts and it was just the right enough of gold for this LO which is has a long of pink.
I hope you join in this months challenge and if you need to shop remember to use my code 🙂
Another round of cut it up at Paper Issues and it is such a fun challenge and I get to give my cameo a work out. I have a preference for the large back ground cuts they are just so fun to play with and this month was no different. I mean who couldn’t have fun with this.
I had to keep this cut file big to take up a lot of space. I knew I wanted to use the Good Fellows line by Fancy Pants. I do love masculine lines and this one does not disappoint. I love this picture of my husband with our youngest daughter. He is such a sucker for his girls and she is no exception. I used some string and wrapped it around parts of the cut file to go with the theme of being wrapped around her finger. A small cluster and some bits of color with a title and done. Such a fun and easy LO I’m sure you’ll love the free cut file as well.
And remember if you need to get some masculine bits from the shop, use my code
Its a brand new month of challenges at Paper Issues…so exciting!! I love the take five challenge and this month was no different in wanting to play along. For this challenge I picked the five following things: Green, Orange, Flower, Washi Tape and Thread
I used the July Swag bag which was full of bright fun summer colors and demanded to be used. I loved the pineapple and joined it with a wood pineapple from Color Cast Designs but decided it needed a little something more. A huge pineapple of course. So I put my silhouette to work and then decided to dust off my sewing machine. Lets just say I’ll never be a seamstress 🙂 but with this I didn’t mind that the stitching looks crazy because pineapples are not uniform things so I went a little crazy. But I think it works.
If you haven’t grabbed the July swag bag you should its a fun bag of goodness. And if you need to go shopping, we all need to shop for pretty paper goodies, don’t forget to use my code.
When I first saw Mary-Ann’s Pinspire challenge I zoned right in on the ice cream. Which is a given considering my youngest son is a total ice cream fanatic, chocolatte to be precise. He won’t eat much to speak of, in fact he is the pickiest eater I’ve had but hes all in for ice cream especially chocolate.
The Beach Day line by Carta Bella is absolutely perfect for all ice cream and summer related LOs. I added some of Color Cast Designs wood and perfected it with the Ice Dream template by Fiddle Dee Dee Designs and it was an easy LO to put together.
Big thumbs up to ice cream and this LO. I added some straws of course because it gave it some balance. I also turned the paper for the stripes to be on the side again it was a balance thing in my eyes. A few acrylic stars and a title..complete!!
