I got Knot-ical with Paper Issues new Issues challenge for June. I don’t do many boat themed LOs but I just had to get busy with something from my time snorkeling back in 2006 with my oldest son. It was an awesome time for us both and one we won’t forget, but we want to do again.
I used Making Waves by Fancy Pants Designs because I’ve been eyeing it and this gave me the perfect reason to purchase it. I’m so in love with the silver wave paper I should order more because it will be used a lot. I had a sliver thicker alpha in my stash and I used some water color to represent water. I’m very pleased with how it came out.
I did want to add some journaling but hate my handwriting. So I have this hidden in the layers and the string attaches to the back of this card and keeps it from getting lost. And when I have it hidden the string blends right in. I love all these little elements if you decide you need this collection too don’t forget my code I’d love to see what you create.
I just love giving my cameo a work out so it is awesome that Paper Issues has a free cut file every month and a challenge to go with it. I’m not very good at designing my own files, beyond titles so bonus this is all less work for me. And FREE..did I say FREE And I absolutely LOVE the bkg files they are my favorite for sure. June’s file is no different.. total favorite and so much fun.
I dug in my stash and used the Wonder collection which I can’t go wrong with. I love the bits of gold and the greens. I didn’t want to fill in every section of this file I wanted it a bit more ‘light’ so filling in some sections and leaving others blank seemed to work for me. I so love this page it came along quickly and a few added touches pulled it all together.
I did add some bits from Color Cast designs which are always a must for me. The little wood word art and the acrylic stars. Perfection!!
And remember if you need to go shopping, hey we all need to shop, don’t forget to use my code at paper issues.
Playing along with MaryAnn at Paper Issues for the Take 5 challenge for the month of June. I so do love this challenge it is really easy to make a page with all the options given. I decided to work with the much anticipated Pink Paislee Fancy Free collection.
I started out in a stitching frenzy and to be honest I saw this going in a whole other direction. But such is scrapping start with one thing end with another. I loved digging in some old photos for my kids in the younger stages. I didn’t even have number 5 at this point. I cut out the circles on the paper which is a fun little thing to do. From the challenge I used Yellow, Blue, Stickers, Ink, and patterned paper. I hope you have fun joining the challenge. And don’t forget if you go shopping use my code 🙂
I did a sketch!! I usually don’t I prefer digital templates cause I get to use my cameo so much easier. But I had to do this sketch for Paper Issues, because it is awesome!! Have to love a new month..for all these great challenges. So here is my take on it.
I dug deep in my pictures here for this picture of the girls. Mine and my niece out in nature forcing them to do something on a summer day. Because yes kids need to be forced to move in the summer. Hey I don’t blame them I don’t want to move either. But I think this picture was perfect for the Explore Project Life bits I grabbed from the store.Especially perfect is the wood grain papers from Simple Stories. Can never have enough wood grain.
So get busy with the challenges and remember my code if you go shopping 🙂
I love the pinspiration challenge at Paper Issues, it is such an easy challenge that can take on various forms of inspiration. Mary-Ann absolutely out does herself each month with the mood board and if you haven’t checked it out you must!
I was totally inspired by the bright colors and the water theme in the mood board. I knew that the Beach Day line was perfect for this challenge. I knew I had to use this BKG paper as a main part of my page. But I needed my little picture cluster to stand out a bit more so I made some word art and cut out the word summer in different fonts. A perfect touch was the Splish Splash collection from Color Cast Designs. I so so so love the acrylic and it made for the perfect title. This is a simple page but I love it! I hope you join in on the pinspiration challenge as well. And remember if you need to do some shopping use my code for 20% off your order.
